-RUGBY-
So on Wednesday, my Dad and I went out to watch Scotland play Canada in Rugby. It was part of the Barclays Churchill Cup. It is an invitation tournament put on by Rugby Canada and USA Rugby, they invite different teams each year. This year in pool A was England, Scotlan and Canada in pool B in was Ireland, New Zeland, and USA. Most of the country don't send their top squad except USA and Canada. The idea is that the teams get experience and Canada and USA top teams also can play a "competitive" team.
Anways, it was a great game Scotland won 15-10. The Canadian were unlucky to not win, they carried the play in the second half and if it wasn't for a couple of dropped balls they could have had a couple of tries.
My dad and I both enjoyed it very much.
Take care

Man I am slacking...
Again I have let a couple of weeks go between posts. I got to get back on track.
Anyways, update time: Keir is doing great. His vocabulary and speaking skills are really growing everyday. He is speaking in sentances, he also seems to be a bit of a song bird. We catch him regularly breaking out into songs. His current favorite is "Itsy bitsy spider".
The basement is finished and we are enjoying it. It has been very hot the past couple of days, and the basement stays nice and cool.
Last sunday(may 28th) I finished the National Capital Marathon. I missed my goal time by a one minute and 30 seconds. My time was 3hrs 21min 30sec, but it was very hot and humid on race day so I was happy to finish so close to my goal time, I passed a lot of people who were walking as the heat had gotten to them.

Been a while since I put up any photos, so there is a couple of new ones below (also of the finished basement).
In this photo Keir is sharing his cookie with his teddy bear (Neal if you are reading this you might reconize the bear, Keir borrowed it one day while he was over at my parents place!).
We thought it was very nice that Keir was sharing...

So here is a shot with the dry wall up. The room in the photo will be a storage room. The room on the right of the small room will be the family room.

-Long Time-
Well it has been a long time since I have updated this page. Here is a quick update:
Things have been busy at the Hardie house. Of course it is winter time in Canada so our whole family has been sick basically for the last month. Keir is doing really well at day care, he understands both french and english. He can actually count to 10 in both french and english.
We had a great Xmas and News Years.
That is all for now, I will get some new photos up as soon as possible.
PS don't tell anyone but it is my B-day today. How old you say? Somewhere between 30 and 32....
Take care

2nd_bday2
We had a little party for Keir tonight. Both Grand parents were here. Keir had a great time, he was very excited to see everyone at once. We sang him "Happy Birthday" and Keir tried to sing along. He sang his version with the words "Happy Cake" instead.
2nd_bday3
Opening his gifts was very funny. We got him lots of Thomas the Tank Engine stuff. Needless to say he was very pleased with all the "Thomas"
2nd_Birthday
We got Keir a Thomas balloon, so he was watching his Thomas video with his ballon

Look who is two!
Well two years ago today Keir was born and things haven't been the same since. Keir has enriched our lives beyond imagination.
This photo is a combination of two photos. The photo in the upper left corner is the morning after Keir's delivery and the larger photo is from halloween night of this year.
Happy Birthday Keir!

Halloween 3
Last night was halloween. Keir's second halloweeen. Keir was dressed as a monkey. We actually took Keir out trick or treating. Our street gets really busy with kids, so I took Keir out while Jen manned the fort at home. Keir enjoyed looking at all the costumes while we were walking down the street. We only went to 2 houses on our street (we also visted my parents). Keir was a little shy about the part were you go up to the house and ask for candy, so I didn't want to push it. I think he had fun on his first night "treating".
Here he is hiding behind mom, checking out the kids at the door.

We (My mum and Dad and Jen Keir and I) went for a walk in the Gatnieau Park. We walked around Pink Lake. Keir did alot of the walk by himself, about 1.5km maybe a bit more. There is lots of climbing stairs and going down the stairs. Here is Keir and Grandpa near the end of the walk.
The colours in the park were truly amazing, click on the photos to see a large image, it is worth it to see some of the colours in the photos.

-been a while-
Well it has been a while since I have written anything. We have been very busy. In order here is what has been happening in our lives:
We found a new day care for Keir, Keir really enjoyed his first two days at day care, Keir got sick, (really sick) Mum and Dad got frustrated with the health care system, Dad ran a marathon, family eats a turkey, Keir got better, Keir got worse, Mum and Dad got really frustrated with the health care system, made a trip to the Emergency room, Dad gets sic, Mum gets sick, Keir gets better.
That sort off sums up the last two weeks.
Keir was sick with a viral infection, the frustrating part was trying to get someone (anyone) to look at Keir. We tried Keir's doctor, walk in clinics, with no luck and finally we had to go to the emergency room to get a doctor to see Keir. And they say Canada has a Great Health system, yeah right!
I also ran a marathon some where in there, probably not the smartest thing looking back, but I really wanted to run. The marathon went very well for the first 21km but my stomach shut down after that and I couldn't absorb any nutrition after that so my body shut down soon after. I had to run walk the last 10km and ended up 20mins slower on my second lap! Overall I finished 3mins slower than last year (same race) but 18th overall and third in my age group, so I actually got some cool prizes which was a surprise.
Here is me at the finish line in some SERIOUS PAIN
I missed my goal time and wasn't pleased with the last 15km of the race but it was a good learning experience.
The bug has worked it's way through Keir and he is much better, it working it's way through Jen and myself so the Hardie family should be back to full health before you know it.
That is all for now
Take care

-RIP-
My gran passed away on sunday at 11am Canadian time. Gran had been sick for the last little while and in some discomfort. I will always remember my gran as a sweet, caring, strong woman. This was a lady who up until about a year ago was living on her own well into her 90's.
This is one of my favorite photos of my Gran, it is me and my brother Neal sandwiching my Gran.
The funeral is friday. I try to live my life with no regrets but I do wish I had been able to see more of my Gran and I do wish that she had been able to meet Keir, I know that Keir would have really liked her and she would have loved him.
Love you Gran

-want to buy a bridge?-
So i might be very gullable we will see. I have heard a lot about the FreeIpods.com. Basically they will send you a free Ipod (actually they do it for other stuff too) if you: 1, sign up for one of there promotions and get 5 other people to do the same. You can choose which promotion you sign up from, I chose a free 20$ gift card at Canadian Tire, which actually costs 1$. Then the tricky part is to get 5 other people to sign up. Well Apple introduced it's new Ipod Nano which would be perfect for me, I thought I would try it out.
It seems very legit as it has been on all the news shows
Here is an article explaining it a lot better tha I just did.
Any way i will keep you posted how it goes.
If you want to try it out as well please you my refer link here http://ipodnanos.freepay.com/?r=22124492
If you have any questions about it drop a comment in the comment section and we can talk.
